Yesterday I received an email with some awesome news...
I am going to be leading and launching the Appalachian State University branch of Her Campus Magazine!
For those of you who haven't heard of Her Campus magazine before, it's an online collegiate women's magazine that serves as a guide to each specific campus. Her Campus Magazine is a HUGE success around the nation. Women who have written for their branch of the magazine have gone on to work for magazines like Glamour, Vogue, Vanity Fair and many more amazing publications.
The magazine is an online publication that focuses on fun stuff like Style, Health, Life, Love and other hot topics for the college woman. It has branches all over the United States including Stanford, NCState, Baylor, South Carolina, Brown, Elon and Princeton.

I know that it is going to be a HUGE task for me! I really didn't expect to get this position. I have held minor positions before but I have never lead anything in my life. So I am a little nervous but mainly I'm just super pumped to get going!
I believe that everything happens for a reason and I am really, really, REALLY excited to get this started at ASU! We have a newspaper and a literary magazine, but this is focused on the women of Appstate, so I just know that this is going to be awesome! But guys can read it too, of course!
My goal is to make the Appalachian State branch of Her Campus magazine the best that it can be! I'm going to need photographers, people to work on publicity, writers, event directors, social media coordinators... there are going to be a lot of positions to fill!
Right now I am still at the very beginning of this process and I have a lot to be informed about. They are currently "onboarding me" and I can't wait to hear all about it.
Anyway, I just wanted to fill everyone in on the great news! Please please please let me know if you're interested in being involved!

Laura that is so great! Congrats! I would love love LOVE to help you out! I would love to maybe write some and do some publicity and event stuff. But let me know whatever you need! You're going to make this so awesome girl!
