reason for the season

I can't believe it's December! Coming up soon I'll be done with 37.5% of my college education! Time is flying faster and faster.

I can't believe it's already time for the holidays! I cannot wait to be home sweet home with Mark ( I miss him like crazy), my whole amazing family and cute little rocky who likes to walk under the tree and mess up all our ornaments.

And even though it's only the 2nd, it's already hard not to get wrapped up (get it, like presents? haha) in the commercialized meaning of Christmas.

Right now everyone is distracted by exams, stressed about work or money and everything that comes with this time of the year. Calendar's have lost every inch of free space left and pockets are silently protesting the amount of money you have left to spend.

But thankfully, the older I get the less Christmas is about presents & Santa and the more it's about spending time with family and the true meaning of Christmas. What else could I need then what I already have? An amazing family, good friends, a college education. Not to mention shelter, food and all the necessities.

What Christmas is really about is the most precious gift.
A gift that will relax you during the hustle and bustle of the holidays, comfort you throughout every month of the year and is welcome to everyone who wants it.

A gift that's eternal and won't slowly lose it's appeal as the years go by.

So while your hanging up your lights, decorating the tree & making frequent runs to Starbucks for a peppermint mocha, lets not forget the reason for the season.

And she will bear a Son, and you shall call His name Jesus, for it is He who will save His people from their sins.

Matthew 1:21
