˙ʇuɐʍ noʎ op ʇɐɥʍ

˙ʇuɐʍ noʎ op ʇɐɥʍwhat do you want.

Do you ever get the pocket of your jacket or your clothes caught on something?

You're walking around and suddenly your pocket catches the knob of a drawer or the side of a counter and you're wrenched backwards out of the blue?

I feel like that's what want does.

It tugs at the corners of your mind like a piece of yarn stitching up your thoughts,
this way
then that way
then this way
then that.

It makes you feel like someone wrapped a rope around your stomach and yanked it backwards towards your spine.

A drop of ink in a cup of water -
want disperses into your being like a puff of black smoke
scattered into a million stands of midnight color
finding their way into every gap
and hidden corner of your mind.

It makes your brain an insomniac, a sleep deprived machine with no off button.

It's the rain splashing on your car window
and the rhythm of the windshield wipers
that has you lulled into the simplicity
of thinking these overused thoughts.

Wants addicting.

There it goes again...
driving you insane.

"WHEN YOU CAN'T
HAVE WHAT YOU
WANT IT'S TIME
TO START WANTING
WHAT YOU HAVE..."
